Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has already hired two assistants – defensive line coach Clint Hurtt and defensive line coach Karl Scott – and is still looking for more coaches. to join his defense force.
The Eagles have asked to interview Dolphins safeties coach Joe Kasper for the same position, according to NFL Network executive Cameron Wolfe.

The Dolphins may decline their request because Kasper is still under contract. If they decide to accept an interview, Kasper could join Philadelphia’s current coaching staff.
Before Kasper was hired by the Dolphins last season, he served two seasons (2021-2022) as the Eagles’ QA coach. Kasper, who spent three years (2018-20) as a graduate assistant at Duke and a wide receiver at John Carroll in 2017, was hired by the Eagles in 2021.
Fangio and Kasper worked together in coaching positions in Philadelphia last season. As a consultant, Fangio helped the Eagles prepare for Super Bowl 57 against the Kansas City Chiefs. After the loss, Fangio joined the Dolphins as their new defensive coordinator, bringing Kasper with him.
Many of Fangio’s former assistants went on to become head coaches or defensive coordinators, including former Eagles DCs Jonathan Gannon and Sean Desai. The Arizona Cardinals hired Gannon as their next head coach last February, while Desai served just 14 weeks as Philadelphia’s new defensive coordinator before being demoted and then fired in January.
Kasper could also rise in the coaching ranks, especially if he can learn from Fangio for a few more years..
