Congratulations to Vols coach as he celebrates his 46th birthday in a grand style……

Joshua Kenneth Heupel is an American football coach and former player.

He is (as of 2018) the head football coach at the University of Central Florida (UCF).

He was appointed to the position in December 2017 following the departure of Scott Frost, who left to become the head coach at Nebraska.

Heupel played college football as a quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners. During his college career, he was recognized as a consensus All-American, won several awards and led Oklahoma to the 2000 BCS National Championship.

After two years of unsuccessfully trying to make an NFL roster (with brief stints with the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers), Heupel became a coach.

He served as the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma until January 6, 2015, when he was fired.[2] On January 23, 2015, he was named assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and running backs coach for the Utah State University (USU) Aggies.

[3] After one season at USU, he was hired on Barry Odomand’s staff at the University of Missouri where he served as the offensive coordinator before being hired for his first head coaching job at UCF..
